→ KEY CRITERIA FOR CHOOSING A MONOGRAM EMBROIDERY MACHINE

Determining what embroidery machine you need, boils down to the size and scope of future projects, your basic skill level and your overall budget. It is always a good idea to familiarize yourself with some of the key features. Here are some of the key points that you should consider when purchasing an embroidery machine:

  • Embroidery Area Size; when you’re looking to purchase a new monogram machine, you should consider the size of the embroidery area as this is probably the most important feature to consider. Unfortunately, some embroidery machines will only offer a small 4 X 4 inches of space, which might prove to be insufficient for large scope monogram designs. We suggest looking for Embroidery Machines which have at least 5 X 5 inches of space, so you wouldn’t have to worry about running out of room for your designs.
  • Built-In Embroidery Designs; Most Monogram Machines offers over 50 Built-In Embroidery Designs and Lettering Font Library, however in-some models you won’t be able to add new fonts to the machine. Newer Embroidery Machines models will arrive with Built-in software for extensive editing, and a USB port for importing custom designs.
  • Performance and Capabilities; Depending on the type of design you’re planning to make, you may need to invest in a model with adjustable speed options. For bigger projects, you will want at least 650 SPM (stitches per minute).  Some cheaper and more affordable models will not have auto thread cutter capabilities and as a result you won’t be able to control bobbin speed.
  • Integrated/Dedicated Embroidery Machine; Typically most machines split into two categories: first kind are dedicated only embroidery machines, the second kind are  sewing AND embroidery integrated machines. You should  consider which type of machine will best suit your projects and what are you trying to accomplish.
  • Warranty & Price; Brother and Singer Machines are backed by a 25-year limited warranty.
